Political divisiveness and shortsighted political wins meant to “stick it to the other guys” does harm to us all. It threatens our economy, our way of life, our national security, and our families. Independence allows us to preserve and grow our capacity here at home and our power in the world around us.

Go here to double check that your voting status is “Active” before you go to the polls!
Step 1: Once you’re in the voting booth, find the “U.S. Senate” race
Note: You will not see Jade’s name on the ballot. You will see Ken Paxton, James Talarico, and Ted Brown). Instead…
Step 2: Select the “write-in” Option
Note: There should be (either posted or electronically) a list of eligible write-in candidates where you will see Jade’s name. If you do not see it, let your poll worker know. Jade is registered with the Secretary of State, so your vote will count even if their list has an error or her name is missing.
Step 3: Write/Type J a d e S i m m o n s
Note: Most polling stations will have a digital system and you will either select or type Jade’s name in the write-in spot. Some polling stations will have actual pen and paper and you will write in JADE SIMMONS. Write legibly, spelling matters.
Step 4: Review your ballot
Note: If Jade’s name is misspelled on the paper form or their electronic system, ex. Zade Simmons or Jade Simons, select it anyway. The error is on the polling station, your vote will still count. Make sure your selection was accepted by the system before you leave. If you have any questions, ask the person in charge at your polling station, they are required to help if you need assistance.

That means this is different than writing in your grandma or Mickey Mouse because they did not register with the state to legitimize their candidacy. Rest assured that writing Jade in is a legal and acknowledged part of the democratic process. This is happening.
