Jade is a proud wife to her high school sweetheart and air traffic controller husband, Jahrell. They make their home in Houston with their two children, Jade’s mother, and little Yorkie named Tiny. Simmons holds a Master’s Degree in Government with an emphasis on American Government and is currently pursuing a PhD in Government with a secondary emphasis in International Relations (Regent University). The unapologetic renaissance woman adds these recent studies to her degrees in Music Performance from Northwestern University (B.Mus) and as a Provost Fellow at Rice University (M. Mus).

No stranger to disrupting the world of politics in the name of providing a purposeful option for those who find themselves politically homeless, Simmons ran as an Independent candidate for President of the United States in 2020.
