Jade is married to her high school sweetheart Jahrell, a navy veteran and air traffic controller. They make their home in Houston with their two children. Simmons recently received a Master’s Degree in Government with an emphasis on American Government and is currently pursuing a PhD in Government with a secondary emphasis in International Relations (Regent University). The unapologetic renaissance woman adds these recent studies to her degrees in Music Performance from Northwestern University (B.Mus) and as a Provost Fellow at Rice University (M. Mus).

No stranger to disrupting the world of politics in the name of providing a purposeful option for those who find themselves politically homeless, Simmons ran as an Independent candidate for President of the United States in 2020.
